Music

This is the Birthday card I made for my eldest sons friend, they are both members of Talking to Amy - my son sings and plays guitar and Max, his friend is the lead guitar player, hence the music theme.

This is a very different card for me - the base card and the panel with the heat embossed Music image have been created with distress inks.  I used my Inkssentials Blending Tool to create the blocks of colour.  The LOTV sentiment has also been heat embossed and the die cut stars have been given a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer.

The paper that everything is layered onto is American Crafts Classic Calico Collection, it has chevrons on it but they don't really show up in the photograph.  I have kept everything relatively simple with just a punched border and die cut stars as the card is for a teenage boy.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Victorine Originals Challenge 53 - Stamp, Emboss, Embellish
Simon Says Stamp & Show - The stamp you love (but don't use)...
Anything Goes Challenge 87- Make it Manly
Craft Room Challenge - Something for a Man
Crafts and Me Challenge 122 - Dies or Punches
Divas by Design - Anything Goes
Digistamps4Joy Challenge 61 - Birthdays are FUN
Paper Pretties Challenge 247 - Spike the Punch
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Crafty Boots - Out of Your Comfort Zone (Heat Embossing and using inks)

Thank you so much for popping in today, I hope you are all managing to keep warm - it's still freezing down here and no sign of things warming up in the near future.

Snow Scene

This is one of the cards I made for the Create and Craft Launch of the Ooh La La Creations Yesterday's Memories CD a while ago, I just remembered that I had never blogged it.

The Pyramid Decoupage image and the papers are from the Vintage Artwork Sets and I think this card  is suitable for both male and female recipients.

The card stock is Core'dinations and the card candy has been made by punching some small circles and adding a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer, the only other addition is some ribbon from my stash - I don't think you need many embellishments with the quality of these images.

I have decorated the inside of my card with the same papers and  following the same layout as the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Cards for Men Challenge 4 - Wintertime
Digi Darla Challenge 51 - Make it Masculine
Here Come The Boys Challenge 46 - Lots of Layers
Joana Sheen Challenge - Layer It Up
Allsorts Challenge 195 - Animals

Rustic Charm

Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all managing to keep warm - it's absolutely freezing here at the moment.

I have some really good news to share with you today - last week I was honoured to be invited to join the talented DT over at Winter Wonderland - I still can't believe I was selected from all of the wonderful Crafters that entered the DT call, thank you so much for inviting me ladies.  My first challenge isn't for a couple of weeks but make sure you pop over and join in with the current challenge which is Snowflakes Falling All Around!

This is the card I have made for the Seize the Birthday Challenge, I just love their sketches - I just hope my card is close enough to the original sketch this week!

I have kept things quite clean and simple this time, the sunflower stamp is from Docrafts, I stamped it twice and coloured them with Spectrum Noir pens, I thought I would have a change from my ProMarkers.  I then cut them both out, the bottom one has been mounted flat and the top one using dimensional pads.  The wood effect paper is My Mind's Eye - Howdy Doody and the card stock is Core'dinations.

I used my X-cut Border punch to cut the scalloped edge and the sentiment is LOTV stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink.  To embellish I have just added some twine that has been coloured to match the sunflowers.

This is the fab sketch and this week we have to make a feminine birthday card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges.

Seize the Birthday Challenge 7 - Sketch and Feminine Birthday Card
A Gem of a Challenge 68 - Add a Bow
Delicious Doodles Challenge 24 - Flowers for Spring

Spring has Sprung

Good evening everyone, it's nearly the weekend and I'm late for The CD Sunday Challenge again this week, the theme this time is Spring is in the Air and I've used another fab image from The Digi Stamp Boutique.

I have coloured 'Spring hoppy',  that's the name of the image, with my ProMarkers and created the cloudy background with distress inks. The CD element on this card is the backing paper and it's from my Crafter's Companion Swalk 2 CD.

I cut out a cloud shape to create the base for the LOTV stamped sentiment and used my Marianne CreaTables LR0205 for the fence and LR0206 for the ivy, the little flowers are Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms and they have been given a coat of, you guessed it - 3D Crystal Lacquer!

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card to match the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I have coloured my image with ProMarkers (I got my inspiration from a card I found on google, but I can't find it again to give the person credit) and made my own Card Candy by punching out some small circles and giving them a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer - it seems that I can't make a card without it these days!  I pleated some seam binding rather than adding a bow, I felt it went better with this image.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front using the same papers and layout as the front.

Good morning everyone, this is my entry for the Seize the Birthday challenge this week, I'm cutting it a bit fine this time - the challenge ends at noon:

This is the sketch that I have followed from Seize the Birthday:

I cut the image out and layered it onto a Spellbinders Standard circle die cut which in turn has been layered onto a dark blue Pinking Circle die cut.  The sentiment is computer generated and I have die cut some dark blue stars with my X-Cut star die and added some 3D Crystal Lacquer to them.

The inside of my card has also been decorated following the sketch and using the same papers.

Blue for a Boy

I made this card for my niece and her partner, they have just had their first baby.  We knew in advance that it was going to be a boy but I waited until after the birth to make it - just in case!

The clothes on the washing line all came from my Polka Doodles Sundae of Seasons CD and the sentiment is from Pink Petticoat.  I have added a layer of pale blue card stock from Joanna Sheen (now discontinued) and some bakers twine for the washing line.

I have decorated the inside of my card as well:

Love Bunny

This is another card using a fab image from The Digi Stamp Boutique, I've kept things quite simple again - I'm really into the uncluttered look at the moment.

The image is called Boy Love Bunny, I thought my eldest son might have liked this one for his girlfriend, but he chose the Ooh La La Creations one I made called Love Letter instead - he's obviously growing up fast!  The papers are Pink Petticoat and I have applied a coat of 3D Crystal Lacquer to all of the hearts.  Full details of everything I have used are listed below.

I did decorate the inside of the card but couldn't get a decent photo.

Card Recipe

Papers:  Pink Petticoat - waterfall hearts and pinstripes

Santa's on his bike!

I'm pleased to say that I have managed to get my CD Sunday entry ready a bit earlier this week, I seem to be making a habit of being a bit last minute lately!

The theme this week is 'On your bike!' and as soon as I saw it I knew exactly which image I was going to use.

I love this fabulous image from the Ooh La La Creations Christmas Presence CD, if you follow my blog you will have seen quite a lot of cards made using images from this CD.  The image and the papers are from the CD, I added some white Pebeo paint to the outside of the papers, I was attempting to make it look like snow but I'm not sure I succeeded.

I don't think these images need very much embellishing so I've just added some red (yes they are red!) pearls and some white ribbon, the sentiment is from LOTV.

I have decorated the inside of my card and you can see the layers on the image in this photograph as well:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Good morning, I hope everyone is well and enjoying the new week.  I would like to extend a very warm welcome to my latest follower - thank you so much for joining me Flora.

We have a new challenge for you at Bearly Mine Designs and this week we have a sketch for you.  I have used a Saturated Canary image, many thanks to Krista for letting me choose one of her fabulous images to work with.

At first I tried to colour her top in red, but after lots of failed attempts (I find red such a difficult colour to use) I had a look around the internet for inspiration and found a fabulous image on the Copic Marker Europe Blog with her Top left white and so that is what I did. My papers are from one of my Bearly Mine Designs CDs, full details of everything I have used are listed below.

Card Recipe:

Tools:  Spellbinders - Labels Eighteen, X-cut - Scalloped border punch, Crafter's Companion - Epiphany Shape Studio Heart, Punch-Bunch - Medium Oak Leaf

Meadow Daisies

This is my entry for the Seize the Birthday challenge, this week the challenge is to follow the sketch and make a Feminine Birthday card.

I have used one of my older stamps from Joanna Sheen's Favourite Flowers Collection and coloured it with Pro-Markers, the papers are from the My Mind's Eye Everyday Flair collection.

This card started out with yellow card stock but it just didn't look right so I decided to use Kraft instead.  I cut the image out with a Spellbinders circle die and mounted it on a Scalloped circle die cut. The sentiment is LOVT and I have just added some string, a little bow and a yellow brad.

I have decorated the inside of my card to match using the same papers and layout as the front.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday Challenge 5 - Sketch and Feminine Birthday Card

Abracadabra!

I'm running late again this week with my entry for the CD Sunday Challenge - the theme is Showtime and I decided to use this fabulous LOTV Mini Masterpiece.

The CD element on my card is the stripy paper from one of my Bearly Mine Designs Designer Extreme CD's.  The card stock is Core'dinations and I have used my X-cut star die for the star embellishment.  The ticket sentiment was from the Crafty Pad (unfortunately now closed) and the card candy is from my stash.

I have kept the decoration quite simple on the inside of this card, mainly because I used up so much of the embossed card stock trying to get the front right that I didn't have enough left to do very much on the inside.

.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

The CD Sunday Challenge - Showtime
Crafting When We Can Challenge 37 - Cards for Boys
One Stop Craft Challenge 214 - Anything Goes
ATC's & Cards with Attitude Challenge 33 - Be My Valentine/Anything Goes
Fat Pages & Cards with Attitude Challenge 33 - Be My Valentine/Anything Goes

Thank you for visiting today, make sure you pop over to the CD Sunday Challenge blog and have a go at this weeks challenge.

Love Letter

It's the beginning of a new week and time for a new challenge at Ooh La La Creations, our theme for this fortnight is - Love Story - you don't have to use an Ooh La La Creations product but we love it when you do.

I have used a gorgeous image from the latest  Ooh La La Creations CD - Yesterday's Memories - you can purchase the CD from the Ooh La La Creations online shop.

The image and  papers are both from the CD, full details of everything I have used are listed below.  I printed the image on water colour card stock and inked the edges of everything.  The smaller heart embellishments have all been treated to a layer of 3D Crystal Lacquer and I pleated some pink seam binding.

I got the idea for the little envelope with the love letter inside from my Quick Cards Made Easy magazine, there is a fabulous section in there by Julie Gibbs (Jules to those of us who know her - take a look at her blog 'Always with a Heart', make sure you have a coffee though because you will be there for some time).

As usual I have decorated the inside of my card to complement the front.
